The teacher understands and uses a variety of instructional strategies to encourage learners to develop deep understanding of content areas and their connections, and to build skills to apply knowledge in meaningful ways.
This relates to teaching becuase as a teacher you need to use many different styles as a teahcer. With this think aloud it gives multiple different perspectives and learning types which help you and the kids in your class room.
This will help me become a better teacher and educator becuase it is an easy way to organize a classroom and give what every kid needs while engaging the kids so they do not get off track. While doing the think aloud it will practice and test to see how good my classroom orgization skills are.
Think Aloud Strategy
Definition/Description:
Think Aloud is a strategy that is used while a teacher may read something, and while they read it they will stop every so often and describe the actions that are taking place that are nlot directly in the text. They do this so students can get the bigger picture of the text.
Classroom application:
Some strategies that may be used during this time could include; pausing when unsure, rereading a section, visualizing the scene, defining vocabulary, asking questions to the class, connection anything to the text, predicting outcomes
Classroom Management Considerations:
While we should make sure to stop we can not stop too much or else we may bore some kids. We need to find the right balance of engaging the kids while they also stay engaged in the reading.
If you have too many stops then if is easier to get off topic and then the meaning of the stop is gone.
Before you read you need to have a few questions in your head before you even start reading.
